Yes, they have a freakingly strong sense of hierarchy, shamelessly take other people's credit at work, bullshit like there is no tomorrow, and claim to be experts in fields they know nothing at all... I can talk about cases similiar to yours for an hour. Of course, I also know other Indian engineers whose integrity is as strong as their professional competency. They are friendly, kind, and above all, fun to be with. It's hard to understand the culture (or cultures?) that has a history as long as ours, yet vastly different and diversed. Before I can really understand it, I would rather treat the people individually, case by case, like what you did in this blog entry. Keep writing, and sharing.
